Default Help Choosing the right fluids

hey guys about to change the fluid in my tranfer case, tranny fluid/filter and rear diff oil/friction modifier. whats the best way to go? is royal purple worth it? as these fluids are changed as the manual calls for it i do not mind spending a little extra $ to get better quality but if not needed i will not. thanks mike

Royal purple is worth the money. But as an alternative I would suggest Lucas with the additives in it. And its always best to change them as its not worth having something overheat and break then you are out BIG $$$

Any reputable brand atf4 for the tranny & transfer case, unless you want to pay double for synthetic. I was going to but it was not stocked at my local suppliers. I used mobil1.

I have RP in my engine, trans and diff.

We have a polled thread on this in our FAQs BTW.

No if you go with RP the additives are already in it.

I like RP, but to be honest, I have a health problem right now and am not working full time, so I just went with Valvoline full synthetics on both of my recent fluid changes in the truck & the Jeep.

RP is good, but you really can't go wrong with any name-brand 100% true synthetic...
