Default Update on 2wd Lift

So for any of you that followed my thread about a month ago on trying to lift my truck well here's an update. I bought bigmac18s lift yesterday. It's a 6" Fabtech Lift. Now here's the kicker. I found a local shop that's pretty much up the street from me and they want to charge me $1000 for the install. That doesn't sound right to me since i already have the lift and i just need the to install it. Am I wrong here? Any input? I can pretty much guarantee I can't install it myself. I'm also planning on getting new tires (285/65R20 BFG AT KOs) from the same shop so I guess I had the crazy idea that would cut me a deal in that case.

There's a lot of Labor involved for any type of lift, especially a suspension lift where you'll need an alignment afterwards($100 by itself)
I know just for front shocks, it's like $3-400 Labor, so $1k for Labor isn't completely out there. it's within reason, but is on the higher side.

Then again, you might have checked into install cost before buying one and priced around. However, installing one is not hard but it is time consuming. Sounds like it might be worth while for you to buy a few needed tools and invite some buddies over one weekend. Id help if you were closer

Yea it turns out with the install and new tires plus tax its gonna come out to about $2650. I guess it is pretty worth it to pay to have it done right and it be a one time cost.

***** that. I would install it myself. Save probably 800-900 (still gotta get an alignment after install) and use that money elsewhere. Hell, wanna give some money away? Drive up here and i will install it for 500

LOL....I was wondering if you were going to catch on to that.

Seriously though bro, do it yourself if you can and have the time.

If I was confident enough in myself and I did have the time (Going to California for a month for training on the 26th) I might actually attempt it. But I think I might just have to swallow my pride on this one and open up my wallet. And I'm just really eager to get it on and have some fun with it.

$1,000 isn't horrible. It's a ton of work

Yeah, i paid $900 for the install on mine. That's not too bad for the amount of work it entails.
