Got mine from Summit too. They typically arrive to my area the next day from their NV location. 2-3 days if coming from OH which was the case for my muffler.

I have a aftermarket Y already and it even looks restricted compared to the Magnaflow Y. Can't wait to have both installed.

Nice, yeah I am in the same boat. I can't wait to get my new Y on and delete the final resonator. I didn't do it originally because I was not planning on getting a tuner to disable the MDS. Oh how things change... I don't know what year your truck is (judging by your key, I would say pre-06) but does anyone have any info on deleting the resonators? Should I delete them both?

This is a very good mod.

A gentleman, on another board, saw a 8 RWHP increase (on dyno) after simply swapping out the stock Y on a 2004.

On my 04 I recall only one located after the muffler.

You're right, my 08 only has the one resonator on it too. I thought I had read somewhere that the 06+ had a resonator before the muffler, and then one right before the tailpipe. Mine goes: manifolds >> Cats >> Y-pipe >> muffler >> resonator >> tailpipe.

^^^
if thats your setup they must have changed between 07 and 08. I had manifolds, cats, Y, resonator, muffler, resonator.

I ditched everything stock from the cats back with magnaflow Y and cat back.

Nate,

Front resonator was removed for 2008.

Anyone have a picture of how your new Y-pipe was welded in? I would like to take a picture to my exhaust guy just to give him an idea about how I want it done.

Sil, thanks for the clarification.

bgbluram2

here is a shot of my Y pipe installed. it is not that great of a shot to show you how it ties into the rest of the system, but it was installed in the front resonator location, which was directly behind the stock Y. you will have to bend and weld in some additional pipe to tie into the stock down pipes after the cats.

i will see if I have any better pictures on my computer at home

EDIT
here are a couple more pictures that I found. It's the best that I have handy, but still no shots showing the whole setup.

that down pipe is covered in trans fluid as I just did a pan drop and installed the mag-hytec pan.

Thanks for the pictures. Yeah I got under there and was wondering where they would fit the new Magnaflow Y-pipe where the stock one is, but after seeing yours I see that they pushed it back behind the cross member and then just ran additional piping. That seems like the best and easiest way to do it.

Why is there new piping going up towards the manifold on the drivers side?
