Where are you from? Those prices seem to be a tad high. Maybe not the Mega, but the Quad does.

well, you can't consider what you are upside down on your current vehicle when looking at the truck (don't get me wrong, you need to consider that for your payment) but by doing that it really makes the truck price appear out of whack to us.

Both vehicle prices you list are within normal range BUT are both at the very top end of that range (full retail).

To put the prices in perspective, I've got a cousin in upstate NY who bought a BRAND NEW '08 Ram 1500, QCSB Hemi, 4x4, ThunderRoad package around Oct. of '08 and paid just over $24k plus T,T & T. So the almost $22k for the '07 with over 60k on the clock is stupid high by comparison.

I don't usually look at local pricing of Mega Cab gassers, IMO the truck is just too damn heavy and should only be offered with the Cummins diesel, but '07 QC Hemi 4x4s usually show up in my local paper for around $17 or so private and are rarely over $19,900 from the dealers (before haggling).

Since I'm pretty well known as a "truck guy" around here, I often am asked to go truck shop or to look over used vehicles by people I know and I recently went with a guy to look around. Found an '08 QCSB 4x4 Hemi with 38k miles on it the dealer had listed for $22,995 that I was able to get him down to $19,700 on. Deal didn't go through as we found out the kid had a sub 500 credit score and was basically wasting my time, but the $19,700 I thought to be very fair.

Around here, at least, since gas got to over $3.50 a gallon, more full size used trucks started showing up on dealer lots and with supply up and demand down, the prices dropped a good 10-20%, if not off asking price, then at least off final sale prices.

This is a BUYERS market for gas guzzling trucks right now, but it appears to me that where you are looking at these trucks have them priced at a premium still. I would assume they'd drop the price quite a bit if you pushed them...

The 07 definitely seems over priced to me. I bought my truck (07, Quad, Hemi, SLT/ThunderRoad, 4X4) last July from a local Dodge dealer with 19,000 miles for $23,000. It was a prior lease vehicle, if that matters. Definitely shop around some more, in my opinion.
