Default MPG Savers

What do you think of these options?

I have CAI.

I am thinking of going with the following:

Underdrive pulleys
E-Fan
3.23:1 gears (not sure I want them or not since I have 3.55:1)

Now I just need to shed some wieght - divorce??? lol

according to the on board temperature/mpg thingy, the best way to save fuel, is to get up to about 60 mph, as your going down a long steady incline and put cruise on. I did this today, and the screen said I was getting 68.9 mpg. of course, once I slowed down and stopped, then did a 30 foot llong burnout, it was back down to 9mpg.... but coasting down hills wherever you go is a sure fire way to get good mileage.
/sarcasm

seriously though I would keep the 3.55's. at 65 my truck is running like 1300 rpm in overdrive. if you are able to, I always suggest using your cruise on the highway... using your foot causes gas to disappear into thin air (after it flows through a series of tubes, baffles, sudden bends, and not to mention its ****in hot in there. until finally it comes out the tailpipe with alot more of his greenhouse gas friends that you created by not using cruise.

thank you

trust me when I say I drive like an old man, crawl off the line and slow down at a rate that brake pads last 60K - 70K miles.

It would take a very long time for any gas savings to offset the cost of a gear change. If you're thinking of a e-fan to reduce fuel cost, that will take a while to show up as well.

I just put the e-fan and CAI into my 07 QC. i have noticed a jump in my mpg. but it may just be me being more aware of driving habits. but hey if took me doing some mods to change my habits... then in a way if will pay for itself. Thats my 2 cents

Yeah I know, sorry I got a bit off topic responding to 'Weeds post.

Personally I think the move to 3.21 gears is gonna cost you fuel economy everywhere but when moving at a constant speed on the interstate.

I've got two friends with 4th Gens came with the 3.21s, one went to 3.92s and the other to 4.10s and both INCREASED their fuel economy.

You can never go wrong with the efan, even if you only net 1-2 mpg, the cost is so low on one that it'll still make it up in a year or so...
