Default filter for DIY CAI

I have read alot of info here about the DIY CAI and feel confident I can do it,but I want to be sure I get the correct filter. I went to the K&N website and found the CAI for my 07 1500 5.7L. The replacement filter for this CAI is what I want, right?
http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=57-1533

Also I will be getting a Superchips tuner(should be here soon),and the description said it will work with most aftermarket CAI.Since I will be using a DIY,do I program it to the CAI that I will be using the replacement filter from?
Thanks for any help.

Yes that filter will work or you can get any aftermarket filter somewhere like autozone checker or napa. And you wont program your cai into your superchips. Your diy will work just fine. You'll see once you get it.

Did this yesterday. I just bought a Spectre filter from Advanced Auto. It was quicker and cheaper than getting or waiting for a K&N

It also lets more dirt in than a K&N or Airaid filter

There is not enough additional from a CAI on the Rams to need a CAI tune like the cars do. The mixture doesn't lean out requiring added fuel.

I do not even understand the fundamentals of the computer/tuners so please bear with me.
So what I am getting is that you do not program for a particular filter or CAI.Does the tuner adjusts itself to the new airflow that it is reading from a sensor?

When a company like K&N designs a CAI,they design to fit a specific engine compartment presumably. But the parameters for the filter itself can change to a degree? As long as it has at least as much flow as the stock, everything else is a potential gain?
