Default Axle

So I finally get a chance to open the Dana up and look inside. I drain the fluid, which looked pretty good. Plug had the expected shmeg on it. I pop the cover, and I find: an extra C-clip. Since I know these things only have 2, I'm guessing something got taken apart at some point during this thing's life that necessitated pulling the axles and one got dropped and forgotten about. It looks like it just sat in the bottom in the fluid, as everything I see looks good.

I know, right? As soon as I saw that clip in there, I was like, ah f*ck, and started spinning everything. I felt a little better when I saw both clips still in place and didn't see any missing chunks. Now I just have to find time to install it and be without a vehicle for a day or 2 waiting for a driveshaft.

Well I finally had time, opportunity and money all at once. Unfortunately, it's the week before I deploy again. Since I do have the time, I am putting the Dana in, at least it'll be in for when I get home.

I got the old 9.25 out, lines and stuff transferred over and measurements for the new driveshaft over a coupla hours last night as it was getting dark.

The old axle (which will be available if anyone is looking for one)

D60 waiting to be put back together

Update: All right, so I am back from being underway. There is a vibration, almost a rumble coming from the axle above 40 mph, so I haven't had a chance to really test it for fear of breaking something. Bearings maybe? I know this axle was somewhere between 30,000 and 50,000 miles when I got it.
