where are you guys reading this so i can correct it. canbus is only 06+
but even then, guys with those rigs still use hids so dont let that stop you.

I looked again last night, the only way to do it on my engine/yr it seems is on ramps from the bottom MAYBE, there is still something directly behind the plug making it prob impossible to work with. so it looks like the head light is coming out, it wont be that hard to aim hopefully.

those links are epicly helpful! I am going to tap the 10awg 3rd ign/3rd accessory pink/yellow with a yellow 3m t-tap for my power windows. it seems thats what it does normally anyways. being 3rd ignition, i want to make sure you think its safe to tap.

as far as the back up lights, seems i can get it in the drivers kick panel, much easier than under the hood at the pcm so i will try there first, thanks!

ah ok, then that may work. do you remember if ramps were required?

also, its been so long since I used to do installs, is ignition wires safe to tap for my rear view mirror and power windows or am i risking problems? The one wire i want is a 3rd ign/3rd accessory. Thanks

Canbus is 2002+ which is why you get the flicker strobe. If 2002-2005 weren't canbus, then installing HID's wouldnt be such a PIA. Wedahoe made a mistake saying 06+. Only difference with 06+ is an electronically controlled relay center(tipm), nothing else.

Please use the HID thread for anymore HID questions. Thanks

Thanks, I am going with a relay anyways so I am good either way

I am just going to pull the head light housing to do the drivers side hid bulb, i dont want to risk breaking the bulb and going from the bottom that is 90x more likely to happen IMO (in my case)

the owners manual actually says to do it that way and doesnt mention aiming after. it appears the aiming is done in the housing on my yr, maybe that will reduce the aiming getting messed up if i am lucky.

I picked up a set of 5 1/4 in components to install in the rear today, anyone have any tips on removing the panel covering the rear speakers (std cab) and the piece above it?

thanks

Please keep your posts separated in the future.
You can go to the FAQ section or just download straight from Weedahoe's signature the service manuals which will tell you exactly how to remopve the panels all with pics.

Check out the AUDIO SECTION for more help

ok sorry, i will do that. back to the hids though.

I planned out the install today and i was wondering if its safe to run the wires(relay harness passenger side connector in a rubber tube) across the top of the fan shroud (zip tied) or if it will get too hot and melt them? It appears the only other option is to run the hid wires around the back the long way for the passenger side (furtherest from the battery) ??

edit: looks like unless i want to cut up my nice relay harness i will need to route above the fan shroud. its in a nice thick rubber tube though

thanks
