best tuner for the bastardized 03's
Im thinking that being able to get a custom tune would be important because down the road I plan on a 260 cam, long tube headers, bigger TB, along with pretty much a whole new valvetrain.
I know you can have SCT do custom tunes for you, but what about superchips? Isnt it just kinda "you get what you get" with superchips?
Either way, Id like to get the tuner first. then get into the cam and bigger intake/exhaust. I want this thing to run low 14's pretty easily... its already in the mid 15's.

Yeah, Superchips was well on it's way to offering custom tune options a couple of years ago, so much so that I actually called them before buying my tuner as I had a 210 cam on the way from KRC that Marty was having custom ground -4* for more low end torque. I was directly told that custom tunes were about 3 months away for my '04 Hemi, so I bought.
Come to find out about six months later that they abandoned custom tunes in favor of CARB certification. I think they made a mistake, because their "canned tunes" can't be touched, but if you need custom you have no choice but to look at Diablo or SCT.
So if you do anything but a very mild cam, you'll need the custom tune and for your '03, I'd go SCT and let Hemifever do it. With your year you can't even bump idle with a Superchips, so any cam with any kind of lope whatsoever will stall on you...

Most 2003's are not supported officially by SCT, but if you email Sean, he can see if your PCM (by p/n) is compatible with the SCT tuner. This is how he figured out how to custom tune 3.7's (like my wife's Liberty), and I hear he has tuned at least one '03 Ram with it.
