Sc 3865 wow!
I just recently purchased a SC 3865 for my '06 1500 4x4 QC SLT Bighorn and absolutely love it. I couldn't believe the difference in so many areas. Stiffer and more "solid" shifting, much better throttle response, a little over 1 1/2 mpg gain, just feels like an all around stronger truck. I just installed the quick tune and really haven't played around with it too much as far as the advanced tuning options go. I downloaded the updater from SC and it said that the tuner had no updates available at this date and it is currnetly up to date. SC also said that the tuner already has the tranny tune installed on the tuner so I was wondering if any of you guys had words of wisdom for using the tranny tune. As far as SC3865 owners who have done the advanced tranny tune, could you tell me just exactly what you did and how you went about doing it? Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated. And by the way, thanks HammerZ71 for pointing me in the direction of the 3865 and answering the questions I had.

You know, I find it absolutely amazing how many different posts are made about the same product.
You'll read where one guy bought the SC3865 and it made his truck perform worse, even in performance tune and then guys will say how much of a night/day difference it makes.
I found a HUGE difference when I bought my first Superchips, especially in the firmness of the transmission shifts.
But we had one guy was so bad about how much power he lost and how bad his fuel economy got that he started arguing with people to the point I had to ban him!
As far as the advanced tuning, you can purchase it right off the Superchips site and when you update the tuner, it'll be on it. I wasn't aware that they came with the feature out of the box?
I'd start VERY mild. I actually just reduced Torque Management by about 60% but left the shifts alone at first, then I started playing around with shift points.
There are a few shift schedules out there (check our SC sticky) that are pretty mild and would be a good starting point. With my '04, I only have the ability to change my WOT shifts, but I believe with your '06 you can change shift points for any and all throttle positions...

Hammer, how do you go about downloading the tranny tune? I can't seem to find it on their website. Do I need to plug in my superchips in order to purchase it? Also, I have the Cortex 3950, is the process the same?
Yeah, same process.
You have to have your tuner plugged into the PC, just like you would to update it, there is a section for something like "options" and it's in there.
However, be advised that the Cortex came with an additional engine/tranny warranty and downloading the transmission shift schedule program void that. Understandable, since it gives the user the freedom to completely change his tune (or f*ck it up)...
Thanks Weed, I absolutely love it. Hammer, I'm not sure how to cut TM by about 60% like you were talking about. I plugged the tuner back into my truck anf the only option I could find under TM was to individually set the TM for each shift. Am I missing something? If you could let me know it would be greatly appreciated.
