Hello evrybody.. Its been awhile. I have a 05 gsxr 1000 that I am selling/trading. So I have it listed on my local craigslist ad and my listing has, trade for a 4 door truck or a tahoe style suv. Well I got a ton of hits ...... AR-15 and jet skis and ex wives(lol joking ). This guy has a 2003 4x4 ram with a four inch lift sitting on 33`s . that he has 4 more payments on at 415 per month , the truck has 125,000 miles on the clock. some sun burn to the hood and top of truck and the usual dodge dash crack... I want to know is this a good truck(the year and model) the truck has the 4.7 liter in it . Do you think it will give me another 75,000 miles. does this truck have longevity in the four wheel drive unit . basically what are the down sides to this truck and whats the upside.And i know its all depending on how he took care of it.but in general is wht im looking for...

 

03s have some issues with valve springs breaking and can possibly drop a valve in the engine killing it. thats not every 03 obviously but a known issue. cracked dash caps are also common. guys either get a replacement from the salvage yard or use a dash mat. 4.7s are prone to over heating and getting cracked heads or blown head gaskets. again, not all 4.7s but a common problem.

4wd and 33 inch tires have got to be small. most guys would run at least 35s.

thats the general info. im assuming for a 05 1000 gixxer youre looking at 6k+?

 

ooooops its 35 inch tires...lol what do u mean im looking at 6k plus..i hve my bike listed at 5800...a tad low but not to low . he says his truck is worth 10k....i plan on finishing his paymnts.

 

ok, thats sounding better. either way though, as with any new ride, YOU want to take the responsibility of doing all preventive maintenance and inspections as if they had never been done.

i bought a small suzuki gs500 some time back. im doing a frame off rebuild and various upgrades on it. plus everything is getting stripped and powder coated although i havent decided on the paint scheme yet.

 

nice gs500...i had a 86 gs 750.wished i had kept it. LOL . Well havent heard from the guy today i wanted to do a meet and look. oh well.
