WAY worse than powerbraking! Nothing good comes of this.
Tug-o-wars are absolutely pointless and here's why....
Forget about power, it's all about traction. Traction has to do with the tire compound and the amount of weight over the axle. If you were to have the same exact tires and same weight over the axle(weighed by a scale) Then and only Then would it be a fair match.
The fact he has a locker means he has 2 tire power where as you will have 1 tire power. EVEN if both tires are spinning there is still traction loss and clutch slippage with an LSD.
Your 3:73's with 35's make your gearing like 3:23's w/stock tires. he'll spank you for torque anyday with 4:10's and stock size tires. Hemi's with 35's are dogs off the line!
4wd...you'll def brake something or fry your trans or transfer case!!!
x3, I wouldn't do it unless you have excess funds to replace broken parts and can handle getting trashed talked the entire time you own your truck! As long as you hang out with that buddy, he'll trash talk on how he beat you. It's just never a good thing.
If you both want to battle, hook-up to compatible trailers and do a run up a hill. That will seperate the two trucks! trucks are meant to pull, not to strqaight out race. I've always done uphill competition when going trailer towing up long hills with buddies.

the only thing u can do if u insist doing the tug of war u can reduce the air pressure in ur tires so u can get more traction and warm them up before u start and u can adjust the programmer to 93 octane and pray that nothing will go wrong , good luck waiting to see the result

It's more about technique than hardware. Hold your brakes at the beginning. The winner in these "matches" is the one whose tires don't spin. When he starts to slip, nail the gas. You'll drag him around like nothing was behind you.
If you both hit the gas at the same time, the winner is the one whose tires hold the longest. None of this is a test of a truck's ability.
