Default Opinion on Superchips Flashpaq

Well, I got a cat back exhaust made for me from Lou's Custom Exhaust. Fabricated a new Y, 21" Magnaflow 3"in and dual 3" out. Dropped the old K&N flatbread back in her from my last truck. That alone woke up the Hemi and improved my gas mileage by 1. That is driving like a pansy.

Got the Flashpaq, downloaded the 87 tune running 89 in it. Obviously SC gave a little performance on the 87 tune too because it had more pep and the shift points were different than stock. Then I topped off the 1/2 tank of 89 with 93 and put her in performance 91 tune. Thats all that was offered after the updating for an 05 I guess. Im still figuring this thing out. This made the engine sound totally different. It woke up alright, its not a dragster but it was exactly what I was looking for. Love the engine tune, not so much love for the shifting schedule. I would love to have my stock shift schedule with the engine tune.

I called SC and they said it was in there under torque management. Well I dont understand the whole jargon it gave me, 1 up 2 up etc. What does all that mean? The manual is useless when it comes to this in particular. Is there another book for this thing? IDK Im sure I'll get the answers sooner or later.

Overall, Im happy with the SC and exhaust so far. I have an Airaid tube on the way that just hooks up to the stock box. I cant see there being much more gain other than noise from a full CAI without changing the intake manifold itself to accomodate more airflow. I think just eliminating the Hemi Hat will do what I want. Im not 1/4 miling this thing, just driving it and having a little fun sometimes.

If ur thinking about the SC like I have for the past 6 years....dont wait 6 years its worth what it can do for you be it performance or just reading/resetting codes.

P.S If I ever figure out how to post pics, I will. Im a P.O. not a computer guy! But I did manage to put pics in my garage.

Look HERE at the thread I created. It's long and packed full, but it has everything you need to know and I explain what the 1up-2dn stuff means.

As far as pics, I use Photobucket as a pic hosting site. Copy the URL and paste directly with your text. Or click on the little mountain looking icon in the Go Advanced(at bottom of text box) and pasting your link in the box that pops up.

Thanks, I took a look and I guess Its just not sinking in. Im gonna stick with the SC performance programs shifting. What the hell, Im getting 2 mpg better now anyway between it and the exhaust.
