Remote Starters
Check out the Viper 5901. I install at Best Buy and its by far the most popular/reliable one. Its a 2-way Security/Remote Start system, it will even tell you the temp inside the vehicle when its been remote started. A bit pricy but its well worth it.
Ok..I am super confused...Please help! I am looking to put a remote start in my 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 5 speed...however I was told I had to have a neutral safety switch and dont...is that something I can have installed or can SAFELY bypass?
no you do not need a neutral safety switch you just have to leave it out of gear and parking brake on if you install a remote start if it is just an alarm then you can leave it in gear and if you are installing this yourself let me know i will send you the directed electronics wire guide that tell you what color and where each wire you need is located and if it needs dioded and what diod to use as i am an installer and i know the door locks need diod isolated hope this helps
compustar all the way.i installed a viper a while back it had all external relays. no matter how you install them they look like a messy intall. compustar has a two way remote that has led lights that flash to let you know your truck started. the key fob is the same size as a factory key fob with 3000 ft range. for the standard trans, hook up the door pins.when you apply the e brake it puts the remote in ready mode.turn the igntion off and the truck will stay running.open the door and when you shut it the engine will shut down.
