stock 4.7 to carbd 5.7 tranny issues?
As im sure anyone who owns one knows, the 4.7 is a joke in the ram. Especially mine with 4wd and crew cab. My question is if I go and change out my stock 47 with a carburated engine will it cause my transmission not to work properly? I figure the tranny gets a signal from the engine to know when to shift and all that mess. And if it wouldn't cause a transmission issue do you think the transmission on the 4.7 would even hold say 500ftlb? I don't know which transmission I have but I figured they would only use one tranny for the 4.7 so I never bothered to look.
I believe on the 03's your TCM (trans control module) is separate from your ECM (engine control module) so you may be able to do it, but you will have to figure out how to get it the info it's looking for that would normally come from the ECM.
500ft.lbs yea i would think that it would hold it for a little while, but wouldn't count on it making it through constant abuse.

That's what im afraid of. Might be best to just change the tranny as well to a beefier non electronic one. I want to increse engine power but you can sink as much money in a 4.7 to get it to 300hp as you could just spend on a 5.7 crate. And carburated is much cheaper than efi and I think there is more power to be got from carb as well
