Does anyone know if you can rewire a 24 volt winch to 12 volt? Found a 9 ton industrial Warn winch (new, never used ) for $500.00. If this is possible ,should be able to hang my truck from a tree.hahaha

 

Man, it would be easier to get a couple 12v batteries and run then in series independent of the trucks system, and run a charge to one in parallel, which will trickle the other. You gotta put a post in between them so you don't fry anything, but I've seen and done it in reverse on military vehicles..

 

You would have to have the motor rewound. That's where the difference is.
