Help! '08 4.7 vs '07 5.7 Hemi
I currently drive an '01 5.2 V8 Dodge Ram.... looking to upgrade. Found a great price on an '08 4.7, but concerned about not having the 5.7 Hemi. Also looking at an '07 5.7 Hemi Ram, but not as good of a price. Advice??? Is it going to be a huge difference?
Irish,
You might want to try this link for other opinions on this matter. I like them both for differing reasons myself. Don't forget to spice up whatever Ram you get with Mopar accessories from Mopar.com Check this link out for engine comparison.....

Read thru some threads, you'll find a LOT of them are guys with 4.7s wanting information on the feasibility of dropping a HEMI in.
Try to find a guy with a Hemi wanting a 4.7.... 'nuff said...

Definitely hold out for the Hemi powerplant. There is most likely no difference in mpg, but you would be making a significant sacrifice in horsepower and torque. I had the 4.7 in the Dakota I owned, and it was nice, but the Ram is a much larger vehicle. You will be glad you held out for a Hemi in the Ram.
Well the 08 4.7 has 310 hp and 330 tq vs the 07 hemi w/ 345 hp and 375 tq. The mileage will most likely be the same, question is do you need the extra power? Also are they both autos, b/c I think the 08 4.7 w/ a manual tranny would be nice combo?
