Default Additional Backup/Reverse Lights

Hey guys, I'm planning on doing the behind the Grill lights this weekend but was also wondering if anybody has put some additional backup lights on?

I'll occasionally hook up to a boat or trailer and it would be nice to have some additional lighting on there to make it a little easier. If anybody has pics of what they have done for the backup lights that would be great.

Well, what I did was more for when I'm fishing the riverbank when I have my truck, we pretty much park on a sand bar and fish the night, often setting out limb lines, noodles then heading back to camp and sticking a few PVC rod holders in the sand and casting out a couple rods. It's a bi*ch re-tying, etc. in the dark and I use the tailgate to hold my tackle. So I made one to slip in the reciever, but that won't help when trailering. I wired mine with a switch, tapped into reverse lights and ran a wire for constant power. When the switch is off - they are reverse lights, when the switch is on - they are constant on.

I kinda wish I had thought it out more and made them able to be used WITH a trailer. I may make a set that slips over the hitch or pick up another 2 to 1 adapter like I have on my Jeep.

That's pretty similar to what I was thinking, back when I used to have my Ranger I was able to put them directly on the bumper cause it was the flare side and there was plenty of room on each side of the tailgate that it wouldn't get in the way.

What kind of lights did you use on yours?

I also really like the idea of having a switch in the back but I don't really want to tie mine in to the reverse lights, would rather them just be on a switch in the cab.

Yeah, I can understand that. I wanted the switch right there at the lights so I wouldn't have to walk up to the cab to turn them on when doing something behind/at the tail gate of the truck...

Now on the front lights of my Jeep, I have the switch inside, but for my winch lights or fishin' rig lights I have a manual at the lights as well, so I can switch them off/on up front when I want to.

They're actually not bad lights, the ones on my fishing rig are Wally-World lights, even though they are small, they are 55 watts and bright as hell...
