Hammer you are starting to sway my choice. I didn't realize that the AT3 was developed with/by the micky T/ Dick C guys.

Still don't know how i feel about the tread depth and load rating differences.

Zeon's are XL load rated (119) and have 14/32" tread depth
AT3's are STD load rated (115) and have 12.5/32" tread depth

it's probably not an issue because the max load for either is well in excess of what they would ever see (2679lb vs 2998lb)

I figure the wear on the tires is pretty close as they list the tread wear on the AT3's as 560 and the Zeons at 520

but those at3's sure are looking pretty good

I thought the same thing about the load ratings Nate,

but then I thought about the fact that the stock wrangler HP's had similar load ratings.. in fact a bit less than the A/T3's. So I figured I got 44kish out of the stockers... so I should get easily that outta the A/T3's. I got mine at roughly 250ish installed (including disposal of olds).

as long as the load rating was stock or better I was happy. I'm not gonna lie my truck is a baby lol. I rarely ever put anything in the bed at all and I have not once towed with it. And I highly doubt I ever will. I bought it because I like trucks, it's got a nice V8 and a six speed manual with 4x4. I like having a vehicle that I can count on in hellish conditions. When hurricane Irene hit I had no issue being out driving around. I could get by with a small sedan or hybrid... but where's the fun in that. The truck gets treated more like a show car or exotic than some show cars and exotics. For those reasons I was not worried at all about load ratings and went with the A/T3's.. And I aint looking back..

Hammer, post count up?..... going for a world record or Dodgeforum lead lol?

See Bendy, Nate didn't know. If I didn't make that statement in this thread he may have made a tire choice he might regret later... LOL...

Although I like the AT3 better, the Zeons still wouldn't be a "mistake"...

Nate, the tread depth is probably not an issue because so much about wear depends on the compound used. Many M/T tires have a much deeper tread than either the Zeons or the AT3s, but won't last nearly as long on pavement.

As for the load rating, because a tire made for off-road use is generally made to have more sidewall flex for traction, this will result in a slightly lower weight rating. A stiffer sidewall also means a little harsher ride although it should provide a bit better dry pavement traction while the slightly more flexible sidewall would be a tad better on soft ground conditions, snow and wet pavement...

you will not be dissapointed. I used to always think that the light rear end was why my truck was so eager to spin tires in wet weather... Got new tires and it's a whole different animal. So much more traction, better ride, less body roll in corners with better tires.
It was the best purchase I've made outside of the truck itself.. (and the 500 bucks I blew at the strip club a few months back......) lol
