Is there anyone out there that has put a 6.4 into a pre 09 ram? Anyone you know of/heard of/ or seen online?

 

Do you mean the crate engine, or the new 392 in the Challenger? People have been stroking 5.7's out to 392 for more than a few years now. The same crank that turns a 5.7 into a 392 will turn a 6.1 into a 420 (6.1 has bigger bores).

 

People have been doing a stroker kit for a long time now. Go over to NA there are plenty of guys over there running them.

 

There's a guy on HTC with a 6.1 bored and stroked out to 7.0 While it had the turbo on it, he was putting down over 800 hp to the ground. 1/4 mile in the 12s.

 

I think the question would the trans transfercase and front / rearend hold up?n I think it would be great to have the 6.1 as an option on the 4th gen I wish it was when I bought my 3rd gen.

 

Im talking about the drop in factory 392

 

Haven't seen anyone do a drop in factory one yet, but I think that would be a lot more expensive and a lot more work to get it all working right than a stroker kit and tune.
