Default Good deal?

Ok, I have a chance to pick up a Superchips tuner 3815 for about $150. The only issue is in Alaska our highest octane is 90 , so that only leaves me with the economy tune as an option. Do you guys think that justifies the money or should I just save the cash for something else. Also to be honest if I get this thing I think I'm gonna try and run the 91 tune with the gas I got and just add some octane booster. That wouldn't be a perminint thing but just to try it out and have fun. So, worth the cash?

Go for it, just be sure that he has taken any tunes from other vehicles off of it. I don't know how much boost ( Octane ) octane booster will give you though.

If I remember right the 3815 is just engine tuning, I've been debating buying one for my 03 since I don't get transmission tuning options anyway.

All the studies I've seen that were done on octane booster showed them all as snake oil, with almost no real difference in octane under test conditions.

You guys bring up a good point about the tranny tuning, so I think I'll just wait then and look for a model that can do that. When's the new vivid coming out?

At least try to find a 3865 so you can purchase the advanced trans tuning.
