Default are these the right size???

hey guys, time to buy new tires for my '03 4x2 single cab (4.7L) and the ones that are on it right now are P275/60 R17's. When shopping around online for tires, the "select your vehicle" lists show my truck as having 265/70 R17's...so, which ones are SUPPOSED to be on it? Did a previous owner get confused or what? Just wanna make sure I'm putting the right ones on it. Thanks.

The sticker on the inside of your door should tell you the stock tire size. If not www.tirerack.com is the best place to find out.

The door was repainted after a collision, and I"m pretty sure they painted over it, cuz I can't find one on either side. Tirerack and discounttire among others bring up 265/70. So none ever came with 275/60's?

Stock was 265/70/17 (basically a 31.5"x10.5" tire). 275/60/17s are a shorter and slightly fatter tire at about 30" x 10.75".

You can run whatever fits. I can promise you my truck didn't come with 35" x 12.5" tires, LOL.

Unless the PO had the speedo recalibrated, your speed has been off by a couple mph too...

I don't know who did what when how many times to who, I got it used at a local Dodge dealership @ ~75K miles with these tires on it. I can only change out two right now so I'll have to keep the current size. Thank you for your help!
