To much cam???
I have plans in the works to install TTI Lt headers and a new 3" exhaust system with a dynomax or magnaflow muffler. On top of the new pipes I plan on putting in a better cam. I had thought of a Comp 273 XFI hydraulic roller. Just wondering if it would be to much cam for the exhaust, to much for the otherwise stock engine, or just wouldn't be a bright idea(ive been know to have a few of those :P) Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance for your help!!
Truck specs? You will need 4.56 or 4.88 gears. 3400 or 3600 stall w/ all the bolt ons. Custom tune w/ 7k rev limiter and super lightweight 2WD RC. The cam is all high end hp and no tq. Been down that road before and mine was a beast over 3k but the 6.5k+ shifts was just not worth it for me on a stock block.

2005 1500 with the 5.7 w/ CAI, Superchips Tuner 91 octane. Otherwise the truck is completely stock. It's currently my daily driver so I'm not wanting to turn it into something undriveable. If the 273 cam seems to much, what would be the opinion of a 268?
