its geting colder out and iv been using the heat but its not geting hot at all. Theres plety of air coming out but its all cold/warm. Its warm enough to defrost the window but thats all.
sounds like a blockage in the heatercore. When was the last time the antifreeze was flushed? Could also be low on antifreeze. Just enough to not give you hot air but not enough to cause you to over heat.
Did you have really nice, cold temps from the AC during the summer months? It could be a blend door problem. But like ReefGuy said, the heater core is also a very likely culprit.
+1 ^^ Does your truck get up to it's normal operation temp fairly quickly? And when it does get up to temp (without losing any fingers lol) feel the upper radiator hose and the two smaller hoses going into and out of the heater core. When your t-stat is in the open position both hoses by the heater core should be about the same temp as the upper radiator hose.
This will be a good indication of any blockages in the heater core.
If all the hoses are good and hot, then head over to www.heatertreater.net and the blend door may be the cause.
Feel the 2 heater core hoses, see if both of them are hot at operating temp.
is engine temp normal?
If both heater core hoses going into the Firewall are Hot, your probably is probably blend door, since you said A/C is not that cold in summer.
and blend door problem is a VERY big job.
Ok so i finnally had time to look at the heat and all the hoses ar hot. So i went inside the truck and i found out that the passanger side is geting hot air and the driver side is geting cold air.
