Default What Air Pressure

Finaly ditched the stock tires and moved up to a Nitto 285/75-17. What air pressure should I run in these? The shop had 40psi and that was the minimum psi with the stock 265/70-17.
'06 Mega Cab 4x4.
Thanks

For everyday use I like to run my tires between 75 & 80% of the Max cold PSI on the side of the tire.

For stock LT tires my door say 60 front and 45 psi rear when empty. I run 60/60 most of time except in summer I for to 65-70 in rear for the 5th wheel. I tow an enclosed trailer monthly so I don't want to be changing the rear pressure all the time, the encloded trailer is not heavy enough to warrant 70 on the rears. If you run empty most the time 60/45 would probably be right for the Mega-cab. Running with 40 psi is pretty low for an LT tire of any size.

The door is fine IF you are running both the same size AND same load range tire as stock, but when you change either you need to go by the tire...

30psi is too low. 35 is the lowest recommended .

I run between 35-38

Again, this depends on what the tire specs are. I run the "D" load 35" Cepeks on my truck at 40 upside (Max is 50), but I run the Nitto Terra Grapps on my Jeep at 32 psi (35 Max)...

I was just replying to adventurer since he gave the specs and had no sticker to go by.

My Terra Grapps had a max of 35 on my 17's (up from 16's) on my Silverado. I still ran 35. I believe they were B or C rated. Loved those tires and got better traction, much better bump comfort, but worse mileage that the stock E rated 16's I had.

We have the same truck and the same tire. I am running 45 psi with great results. They wear very nice and even. Although I have load range E tires, I do believe that makes a difference.
