I don't see what difference it makes to use PVC because the stock boxes are thinner plastic than the PVC is anyway. Like Hammer said schedule 40 should be great.

 

OK, I think I have everything needed to proceed with the DIY CAI build but when I started to look at the PVC fittings and PVC pipe I noticed a difference. The fittings appear to be of a Solid Wall contstruction and the pipe looks solid on the outside and inside but sandwiched inbetween these two surfaces is a COEX Cellular Core.

I am guessing I have bought the wrong pipe or will this work? Hate to build this thing only to find out the COEX Cellular Core is not suitable for engine bay use like Solid Wall PVC Schedule 40?

Thoughts? I am thinking take back and get the solid core.

 

Plus, burning PVC would probably add a pony or two.
