(Caps lock is a key on the left side of the keyboard)

I use a Spectre 9736. SOme say the Spectres are no good, but haven't had an issue. I check the inside of my PVC when I clean the filter and no dust inside (yet).

You guys do realize you shouldn't be using pvc piping for a cai right? When tubing gets warm it let's off some nasty stuff not good for your engine or health, spend a few dollars more get a metal tube it'll look good and safer. My two cents that's all do as you wish just thought is mention it

I researched the heck out of PVC before useing it. I was worried about it softening in the heat. Everything I could find said it was safe. That is unless my engine compartment reaches 250+ degrees, but I think there would be more to worry about than the CAI.

I used an AEM dryflow filter. Don't have to oil it at all, just blow her off every now and then.

I use a K&N, but it's 7 years old. Dry flow filter technology has come a long way in 7 years. When I replace the K&N I'm going to try a dry filter next time which will either be an AEM or Amsoil...

I really don't think the emission of fumes from your pvc is gonna be anything to worry about. I too did a diy cai and I used pvc instead of metal, along with alot of others on here, mainly due to the worry of heat absorption. But I suppose if you were worried about the fumes that could come off a pvc cai then you could make a heat shield, which most of us did, and even go as far as to wrap your pvc in insulation. Just seems like alot of work for something that should never get hot enough to emit the fumes you may be worried about. Just my .02.

The melting point of Schedule 40 PVC is 360*, I don't think we have too much to worry about. But if you are that worried about it, use schedule 80 (that really thick, hard, grey stuff) which has a melting point of 414*...
