That's a pretty good "short list" of the better A/T tires out there, at least in the moderate price range. Although I own the Terra Grapps on my Jeep and am very happy with them, my personally favorite A/T is the Mickey Thompson ATZ, but they are PRICEY...

I know the feeling dude. I've had a ton of unexpected expenses hit starting in August when my dog got cancer. Spent over $2k in vet bills before I finally had to have him put down. September rains brought a roof leak and the need for a new roof on the house and then October hit and the place I work filed for bankruptcy and cut me to part-time. November and my Jeep decided to basically fall apart like the day after the clock turned 100k miles. Front springs went, then a rear caliper froze up and took out the pads and rotor. I just fixed that and less than 24 hours later, the radiator burst at a seam.

Been a bad couple months in my house!!!

I paid $127.50 a tire for the Terra Grapplers on the Jeep in 265/65/17 about two years ago. Just hair over $600 total after mounting/balancing and tax. 285/70/17s shouldn't be a whole lot more...

I just got a set of Cooper Discoverer AT3's about a month ago and I love 'em. Can't help ya much on the wear factor or snow but they do very good in rain and there is *******ly no road noise. I had $920.00 (275/60/20)in my set and that was the out the door price.

I bought a set of Terra Grapplers earlier this year in (P)285/70/17 from Discount Tire Directs ebay store for $725 shipped, this is for the set of 4. That was the cheapest price I could find and the Zeon LTZs were out of stock every where I looked. I had Wallys mount and balance them for me and that was another $60 or so.

You can definitely see the Mickey Thompson/Dick Cepek influence in those tires since Cooper acquired them. Just like MT/DC all-terrain tires, they have some pretty aggressive side biters and the outer treads are more Mud Terrain-like than most AT's...

Personally, I'd get them 20" wheels the hell off. Yeah they have a "bling" factor, but they offer NO benefit over a 17" wheel. 17" are lighter, increase towing capacity, increase sidewall depth (always a plus), function infinitely better off-road and are CHEAPER and allow you to use vastly more inexpensive tires...
Just noticed that, cut me some slack lol I'm viewing on a mobile phone over the road

I've got buddies with the Federal M/Ts, good price and still pull hard. You could check those out
