I mustve missed something but what is star tron?

so does this star tron really work? The only gas station we have here in town says its up to 10% ethanol. Id be willing to try it.

 

Well, I started using it about two years ago in all my yard equipment, ATV, generators, etc. on the advice of a buddy of mine with a landscape/yard care business. He said it stopped all his having to rebuild carbs, replace primer bulbs/fuel lines/etc. that the ethanol was just eating up. Sure enough, all my sh*t started running better and I've yet to have to touch a primer bulb or anything since I started using it.

I used to be able to get ethanol free gas near me, but that station sold to a chain who only has E10. I've always gotten about 2 mpg better on ethanol free and my idle and running were noticeably smoother. In september I decided to start putting Star Tron in all my gas and by about the third tank I was getting about the same fuel economy I could get on the ethanol free gas and my idle was smoother again.
As far as I'm concerned, this is on of the few additives that actually works as advertised...

 

Florida is working on repealing the law that makes the stations sell that ethanol crap. Hope they do that so we can go back to real gasoline.

 

There's still one that I know of in my area, it's a small mom/pop independent, but they are about 16 miles away from me and don't take credit cards. Makes it a royal PIA since I tend not to carry a lot of cash and hitting an ATM to go get gas is a major inconvenience. They will let you set up a monthly account if you have good credit, but they nail you 3% for the "convenience".

I'm pretty much settled in on getting my gas from Sam's Club as their 93 octane usually runs about the price of 89 everywhere else and I keep a bottle of Star Tron in both vehicles to add at the station just before I start pumping gas. So far it's given me about the same results as buying non-ethanol fuel...

 

where can you get star tron?

 

Walmart, Ace Hardware, Lowes, Tractor Supply I know for sure, also about any marine shop. I know in Wally World it's in the marine fluids section...

 

Mike I know you have a 300c, so do I. There is a big difference between how the MDS kick in/out feels between the two. It is virually seemless in the 300c, not so in the RAM. Makes it feel like a turd. Turned it off myself and never looked back. I heard it is more seamless in the 4th gen RAMS. Feels terrible in the 3rd gens IMO.

 

Absolutely spot on. My 2008 is a great truck with MDS off. I had an 04, so I could tell the difference right away. MDS in the 3rd Gen trucks is just plain bad in my opinion. After disabling MDS in my 2008, I never looked back as well and there's no real difference in MPG whether enabled or disabled.
