Default Reg. cab vs Quad/crew cab

I know a reg. cab will be faster on a drag race than anything with for door but by how much?
That is both with same drive train and tyres

Well that's obvious but I prefer and will only ever own a quad cab for some kind of 4 door truck because my priority is being able to haul people and things over being 1 second faster

Yep, it's about a full second in the quarter if you compare a 4wd extended cab to 2wd single cab. All that weight is a big penalty to overall performance.

Back in 1992, a relative got a regular cab GMC truck with the 350 and it was the fastest thing I had ever driven at the time. All 225 horsepower in that small truck!

Reg Cabs are nice, its my "hotrod/sportscar".... Although I do want something bigger for the family, car seat in a reg cab isnt to practical, but thats why we have my wifes car.

I love my 4 door. Have plenty of space for family, buddies, hunting gear, you name it. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I have a 06 Reg cab 4x4 with the 4.7. Got a lot of torque, by far one of my favorite vehicles that I have owned
