Default Point me in the right direction...

I've got a 2005 Ram 2WD with the 4.7, looking at doing some upgrades...at the moment I've got 2.5 inch spacers and 33's. I wanna get a RC 6" lift and look like this:

Or this:

http://www.topguncustomz.com/G2Galle...h&cat=0&pos=68

I've got a couple of questions though, first: why do these rigs have the RC lift and coul spacers, are the RC coil springs crap, or are they trying to get even more ride height? If it's the latter, how do you raise the back, lift shackles or big *** blocks?

Secondly, shortly after I get the lift I want to get 18" rims and 35's, was looking at getting 4.56 gears, but I hear the 9.25 LSD is crap and I should just get a 10.5 with a worm gear. I'm only asking because I'm trying to find ways to lessen the blow to my pocket book, so if I can get away with just 4.56 gears and a 9.25 LSD, that'd be great. I'm in Houston, so snow isn't a big deal, we get ice every now and then, rain is my only concern. I don't wanna peg leg or anything.

Thanks!

For the 9.25, the stock LSD is crap, but if you replace it with a detroit truetrac or an auburn LSD you'll be good to go. I personally love my truetrac, and it's alot cheaper than a whole new diff!
Oh, and your links aren't showing pictures man.

How much did the Detroit truetrac and a Master install kit run you? Is your lsd a 9.25 or 10.5? Thinking about running 4.56 gears until I can afford a good LSD.

And I'll try to repost those links.

This is one of them, these are the specs from Top Gunz:
6" Rough Country Lift Kit
2.5" Daystar Coil Spacers
1" body lift
2008 front end
35x12.50x20 Nitto Mud Grapplers
20" KMC Rockstars

The other one sits like this:
Rough Country 6" Lift Spindles
6" Rough Country Coils Springs
2.5" Daystar Coil Spacers
Pro Comp Lower A-arm Drop brackets
5" rear Block and U-Bolts
18"x9" KMC XD Rockstars
35"x13.50" Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ Radials

I love the way this truck and the other one sits, and I wanna stay away from a body lift if I can...I plan on buying a 6" lift and already have the coil spacers on my truck right now...just not sure what to do with the rear end since it's only a 3" block in the Rough Country kit...thinking about using shackles, but not sure if that's gonna give me a nose rake.

I bought mine at Moe's performance, $600 for gears and kits for the front and back (4x4), and around $500 for the truetrac (9.25). I think he's got a 2WD sale right now, Truetrac, 4.56 and install kit for $790. If you're already gonna be in the diff to do 4.56, you might as well do the LSD at the same time, especially if you're paying the get the work done.
As for the lift, I got replacement springs, so I never really looked into blocks/shackles...

Did you do an AAL, or a whole new set of leaf speings?

I'm thinking about doing the lift first, then the gears, then new.rims and tires. Sounds logical to me.

Default A question about lifts?

I've lurked on here for awhile and have seen a lot of different ways have lifted their 2WD trucks.

I've got a 2005 QCSB with a 2.5" daystar leveling kit in the front and 1" blocks in the rear. I wanna raise it up even more but I'm not sure how.

The rough country kit, while appealing, is just not affordable. I was thinking about using 4" lift spindles and leave my spacers in which would give me "6.5" in the front and buying 2nd gen drop shackles. Which would put me at "4" in the rear. Im basically doing what Matt99 did but with a truck that is already leveled. Outside of buying new shocks (ES9000?) and possibly new coil springs, does this sound doable?
