Exhaust Suggestions Cats Or No Cats
I have a 2004 2500 hemi with the stock manifolds and cats but then true dual with a x pipe and two magnaflow mufflers. I want to run no cats and do o2 simulators to fix the cel. the truck right now as this set-up is way to quiet sounds stock at idle, and it is louder while on throttle but not loud enough. does have a sweet deep tone though.
Is removing the cats a good idea and will it make it louder but not extremely loud.
I was planing on removing them and see if i like it that way and if for some reason i dont i was just going to throw some magnaflow high flows on.
thanks

For mine i would say that it did not make it anymore louder but maybe had a slight lower tone. A lot still remains with your muffler. My muffler of choice makes the truck sounds slightly louder than stock. The smell on the other hand w/ the cats removed is another thing.

There is no real reason to remove the cats on a Ram, the ones used on the Hemi are very high flowing as it is and your exhaust won't be much louder if at all without them. If you want loud, change your muffler. My Cherry Bomb Extreme is very loud, '60s muscle car deep and relatively inexpensive...
