Default Magnaflow Y Pipe

I have read numerous exhaust threads here and everyone says to change the stock Y pipe because its so restrictive. What I cant find is what size Y pipe I need. I went out and crawled under the truck and attempted to measure the pipes but in reallity without cutting the pipe and measuring across it, I'm really just guessing, so, can anyone tell me which one I need? This is for an '07 QC with the 4.7. Looking for the Magnaflow replacement.

Also, is there anything else that needs to be done after changing out the exhaust? Such as changes made in the computer or will it do everything itself? I'll be going with a Magnaflow Y then into a Cherry Bomb Extreme with dual exits out the rear. Thanks!!

I believe the pipes coming into the y is 2 1/4" and the pipe going out is 3". At least that is what it is on my '06 4.7. I am having the Magnaflow y I got welded on this week so I can let ya know for sure after I get it done.

Thanks, let me know for sure. The Magnaflow website dosnt show that size available. They have a 2 1/4" in but its a 2 1/2" out. The only one with a 3" out is a 2 1/2" in.

I see your in Zanesville. I'm in Grove City which is on the SW side of Columbus.

I will have the guy at the muffler shop measure it to be sure. The Magnaflow y I have is 2 1/2" in and 3" out. I also have a Big Horn Edition but I don't think that would make any difference.

If you have to use a "Y", use the 2.5" in and 3" out.

2 1/2" in and 3" out. The Exhaust shop can expand the pipes that they weld in to fit perfectly. Here's a pic of mine

You can see how they expanded the pipes to make them fit into the 2 1/2" X-pipe.
