Default Lets talk brakes

I haven't seen much talk of brakes here curious as to what you guys run, I'm gonna need to do my rears soon and I always do brakes completely front n rear no matter the wear on others. And as I believe hammer says when it breaks or is repaired then upgrade it. I'm running a 05 regular cab 1500 4wd and my personal thought is the brakes could use a little more power.
I've seen upgraded calipers but price doesn't justify it yet, so looking for best rotor and pad combo

That's what Hammer says all right... LOL...

I'm still running the stockers after over 7 years. Pulled a bass boat over a lot of the southeast the first year and an occasional heavy tow since, so I'm kinda amazed. Front pads are getting close though.

I've always been partial to PowerSlot rotors and Hawk pads myself, put them on my 2nd Gen when they needed it and the stopping power pulling a boat was night/day. Plan on going back that route when the time comes...

Any comments on Ebc brand rotors? Yeah the black anodized coating is temporarily pretty, but can't imagine when it wears off into the pad being good.
I ran organically from advanced auto before and were ok, great for dust free rims. I cant stand the inside of a rim being dust caked drives me nuts.

I've never used their rotors, but I have their Green Pads on my ATV, they've already outlasted my stock pads by about 4x and show almost no signs of wear.

By reputation, EBC is good stuff...

EBC is great, but personal experience, their brake dust is horrifying.
I have Hawks. When it is Cold, brake performance is mediocre. When it warms up, it works great. The hotter your brake gets, the better it works.

or you can just go with OEM V-line pads. They works fine for a decent price.

rotors wise. Hows the OEM rotor on your car? maybe you can just resurface it.
