Lowered truck owners only.
Can anyone who has a lowered truck answer this question. I am looking at McGaughys economy #44003 kit. I called the company on it and talked to the tech rep who seemed super informative and knew his stuff. My question to you owners is. How did having your truck lowered affect putting the after market exhaust on it ?
Thanks
Thanks
What truck do you have lowered ? And thanks for the picture it actually really helps. And as I saw in your picture I could just dump the exhaust under the vehicle rather than run a kit to behind the rear wheels. If I just drop under neath like you did with your exhaust I could ssave a ton of money. Just run some straight pipe connect to a cherry bomb muffler and be done with it. Flowmaster althought a great price for the model I want (#817397) is still about $460.
Ok so you ran long tubes. I am eventually probably going to do that but my issue is I can NOT get rid of my cats I need them to pass emission when I go to Canada. So if you have any ideas on how to go to long and keey the cats let me know. And alot of people say to cut some pipe and move the cats back to make room for LT headers that way they will fit into your cats. My questions is why not cut the headers a little bit rather then move the headers ??? Also is that your sway bar that is blue in the picture, and if so is it truly worth the money to upgrade it ??? So your running LT headers straight back to the mufflers bypassing cats and a y pipe. I guess your using an X pipe.
the info provided by truckin151 is great advice in terms of running cats on a LT setup w/ limited space that our Reg Cabs have. I chose to remove them since my location zip is just outside emissions control so i exempted from emission so to speak. I used non foulers and have been code free for about 30-40k.
The Dynomax Ultra Flo X muffler i have has a internal X design so it helps with balancing exhaust scavenging as well as matching flow.
Yes the Swaybar was powder coated blue since my truck at the time was Atlantic Blue Pearl Coat. Does not really match it now since my truck is Satin Orange but the dirt helps conceals it lol.
Even lowered the difference of the Swaybar was night and day, in particular with entering and exiting soft and hard bends. Took away almost all body roll that i was experiencing. The Caltracs helps with wheel hop and leaving off the line.

Nice picture. Ok so maybe I am re asking u this. But u suggest the upgraded sway bar on a lowered vehicle ? And is it necessary to upgrade the front as well ?

Not necessary cause i actually took my front sway bar off lol. I would keep the stocker on or upgrade to a hotchkis front swaybar if you can locate one. Not sure if they are still in production.
The combination of 2/4 and rear sway should provide quite a difference in removing body roll (for a big barge anyway). Adding good shocks and tire size profiles are good factors on how it will drive.

Yeah I know that technically you "CAN USE" your stock shocks with lowering kit I am getting because it using shock extenders, but I know that an actual true drop shock will make a difference still. I am looking into NITRO 2 drop shocks with a complete 4 set going for only $165 NO TAX N NO SHIPPING FEES. Will a lowering my vehicle and adding the better shocks and sway bar help to eliminate some fish tailing ?
If its not to much trouble do you have a lowered picture of yoru truck from the outside on the rear or side. I just see your exhaust and I am trying to get an idea of how I feel about the underneath exhaust depending on the lowered look of the truck.
