Default Behind the grille lights?

I have been wanting some for a while for night driving. I have been looking at a few sets. The only set i've found i like are the Hella Black Magic 500 or 1000 series. I like them because they look black while they are off, which will look almost un-noticable behind my blacked out front end. They only come in 55w bulbs. But i could upgrade them. Has anyone here had any of these? How much of the light does the grille block?
Here's a pic of the 1000 series.

I'm contemplating between these and a set of PIAA's. Interested in responses, differences in 500 & 1000 is just the lens size?

I've got 27w LED lights behind the upper part of my grille. They put out as much light as my 35w HID fogs, and there is no difference between grille up (unblocked) and grille down. Of course, my lights are a fog pattern.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you just get any pair and tint the lens black?
You'll only lose as much light as your would with a tinted tail light/headlight. It also depends how dark you go.
Black magic just means the reflector is "vapor coated" so it appears black.

I may check into those others. The black magics aren't tinted at all. They have a black ring inside which causes the reflector inside to look black. When you turn them on they look normal.

What grill is that? And how easy was the install? I like the small wire pattern to protect the coolers from small rocks.
