Have to do an engine replacement. Power Source remanufactured engines?
I would love to drop a Hemi in there. I think the 4.7 stinks. But I just don't have the extra cash and time needed to do it. Just getting the 4.7 in there is a lot of money for me to shell out.
Some day down the road I will sell the truck and get an 03 or 04 Hemi...I hope.
Thanks.
Engine is supposed to arrive tomorrow...
Exhaust manifolds are rusted solid to the studs and not in the best shape so...
Gibson shorties are on the way too. Probably won't be here til Monday.

Well, the engine came in today

The shrink wrap wasn't like that; I pulled it back.
Tons of gaskets and a bunch of O-rings, some of which I don't know what to do with... This is just a few of them.

Painted valve cover (Plastic?? Really?) and new BWD fuel injectors

New oil pan and some of the fixins

Headers are supposed to be here tomorrow. Hopefully I can get this project finished...
>>>>>>>>>> I have a problem, though! I can't get the dipstick tube out! Any suggestions?
BTW: Getting the vibration damper (harmonic balancer) back on was a cinch. Just put a little grease inside it, heated the sleeve section of it lightly. The outer section against the rubber was still cool to the touch. Then I just pushed it on almost all the way. Bolt pulled it the last 1/4" or so with little effort.

Today, I put these in...

Got the engine in, bolted up to the tranny, all four torque bolts on and then realized that I had forgotten to put the guard in that goes between the engine and tranny... NOOOOOO
Pulled it back out and did it all over again.
Tomorrow, I should have it all back together and running...
Almost there!
