Default Performance mod question

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on some Performance mods
I have an 05 ram 1500 5.7 hemi
And this is what I have done so far,
I have a k&n cold air intake
magnaflow duel exhaust
Superchips programmer (currently set for 87 octane)
Throttle body spacer

So I was just wonder what else I can do, or if someone had a good custom program for the sct

And I apologize if there's a thread with this exact info but i couldn't find it

Thanks in advance

Oh and if anyone had any info on lift kits or could direct me to some would be much appreciated, thanks

I am by no means a performance expert on these trucks, but... Based on everything i see people talk about performance wise both here and locally, without venturing inside the engine itself, you have done pretty much all their is to do. (Minus the Throttle Body Spacer which does nothing). The only thing i could think of would be adding a large bore Throttle Body like BBK offers. Typically around $400 and takes 15 minutes to install. But you will never realize the full benifit of large bore TB without porting the intake manifold and heads. Also, you could do headers. From i have been told, a pretty easy install. Less then $400.00.

Take out the throttle body spacer, you're probably losing a HP or two with it and put you some 91+ octane gas in it and use the Performance Tune. You want performance but are running a tune that de-tunes the engine to safely run 87 octane??? There is a reason they call the other one a "PERFORMANCE TUNE".

Ported TB would help a little, but as said without other mods to make use of the CAI & TB combo - like heads, cam or headers I dunno if the small gain would be cost efficient.

An efan is pretty cheap, an easy install and will free up around 15 HP, not to mention get you a MPG or two around town...

Thanks for the answers,

So when I put the tb spacer in I read mixed reviews some say they were good and would have better mpg some say they weren't do good, anyone know the reason they are no good?

And I usually have my programmer on the on 91 octane but we got slow at work so I went for the cheaper gas but I will be switch back to the 91, quick question on that, putting octane booster in 87 octane and have programmer on 91, bad idea? Good idea?, I'm gonna with bad probably but I really don't know,

Ok about headers so that was basically my next mod I was gonna look into
What are the best kind to get that will work with the mods I already have, shorts? Longs?
And what brand are recommended, again thanks for the advice, I'm no mechanic by any means haha but I learn by doing,

Do u recommend any certain efan?

There WAS a time when throttle body spacers gave a benefit, but this was when the fuel was mixed at the throttle body which amazingly enough was called throttle body fuel injection. It was the first graduation from the days of carburetors and the throttle body basically replaced it. Since about the early to mid '90s injection system evolved to where a fuel rail is used to supply fuel to the injectors which spray fuel directly into each cylinder. FAR AFTER any benefit from turbulent air would get to it.

Most performance shops who have run dynos on throttle bodies with spacers actually report seeing a slight HP loss, although not enough to be able to tell without a dyno. It's generally agreed upon that a fuel economy gain is pretty much impossible with a spacer at the throttle body since the fuel is now sprayed directly into the cylinder and even if there is any turbulence in the air, it's gone well before any fuel is mixed with it.

They do make really cool looking paper weights though.

As for the fuel booster, since you really have no way of telling how much (if any) increase in octane is achieved, I'd leave it alone until you can fill the tank with premium fuel...

TB spacers are good if you drill, tap and plumb them for nitrous.

Thanks,

So what about a bbk tb, it was mentioned that without other mods it was kinda pointless, so would a ported tb work with headers or would I have to have more then just headers? And what headers are better?
And does anyone recommend a place to buy them, I'm in Canada ,
Iv read that mr moes performance has pretty good prices
I think I'll get an efan too I read That Flex-a-Lite Black Magic 180 r good, thoughts?

I was also reading about the fastmans tb's

Any opinions on bbk vs the fastmans?
