ok so im gonna try to explain this the best i can

so im assuming i would still have my stock catalytic converter??

im planning on installing LT headers soon

so would i leave everything the way it is or would i use somththing like this

Yes, unless the cats are bad and need replacing, but this setup is made to be installed after the cats so they won't be affected.

This won't work with LT's. You can very easily reuse the original ones which flow very well with the LT's. They will have to be removed from the system as it sits now and reconnected to the LT's once the LT's are installed, but it's no big deal to do so. If the original ones are bad, then they could be replaced with "universal fit" ones and depending on what size you keep the pipe around your converters, you could use 3" or 2.5" versions. I personally will be using 2.5" pipe from the 3" collectors on the LT's to each cat, and again 2.5" from each cat to a y-pipe that opens to a single 3" pipe from there to the end. I don't want to lose any low-end on my truck by making everything 3".

Would it be any benefit get aftermarket cats?

Not really, unless the stock ones aren't working correctly. The original ones flow just as well, and in some cases better then some of the after-market ones. I am basing this statement on quite a bit of reading from numerous threads and posts from many other people. I originally wanted to replace mine as a performance improvement, but have decided against it until they go bad.

thanks thats pretty much what i wanted to know, i had a little confussion if i should go with new ones or what. so i will just keep whats there and keep some money too
