Default A little help with headlight assembly removal

Can anybody point me in the direction of a thread or video on how to remove the headlight assembly on my 2006? I have a new set of aftermarket headlights coming for my truck and I have never taken the headlight assembly out before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It should be right in your manual, On the 04' you have to take out the entire assemply to change a bulb anyhow... not sure if its the same stupid design on the 06' tho. If it is your manual will tell you.

open hood, remove two bolts from front,

from inside wheel wells, pull plug at front of wells, stick socket through hole, loosen last bolt.

So your saying you have to remove the plastic wheel well to remove the head light? That sounds like a PITA.

02-05 there is a bolt you have sneak a long extension between the lens and bumper cover to get.

Nope, there is just a little rubber plug in the wheel well towards the front that has to be pulled out to get at the last bolt. I just replaced both my headlights not too long ago and Pitbull is 100% right.

Edit: There is a bit of a compression fitting on the back of the headlights so they won't slide right out after taking off the bolts. Just pull with steady low pressure and they will pop out.

Further edit: We're gonna need pics when you replace them, but I'm sure you knew that already!

Yeah I read that and thanks. I guess the real point of my thread, and I should have said it more clearly, was to ask ya'll if there were any tricks or tips that would help me with getting them out.

I guess I won't have to worry about it until I find another set of headlights. But thanks to all who gave advice.
