IS the 2002-2005 Tailgate the same as the 2006-up 3rd gen? I'm looking to put one of those plastic top pieces (cap/spoiler/protector?) onto mine. Checking the Junkyards.



Another question: Are there lockable tailgate handles available?

 

I do not know if the other models fit from 2006 up , but there is an available item on ebay that will fit(per them).

I have had a locking tailgate handle for several years now and it is awesome. I have a pappy cap on mine with alot of equipment inside and this has done well. Recently I had the interior broken into, but the aholes were not smart enough to get in the bed. Oh well, my insurance company should thank them, as it contained 20,000$ worth of telecomm equipment. The brand of lock I used is Bully/Pilot.

It has worked great for me, but if somebody wants in - there is nothing that can be done.


Alot of people will give you **** for not finding this info on your own. All i did was search ebay.

They are a reputable Mopar dealer. If they list it for that range of years, i would have to believe them.

 

Yep and i think the 4G fits 3G's too..or made to fit lol

 

The tail gates are the exact same, the ones with the cap have holes in them for the cap to be screwed down on to it.
