Default Night shades on a chrome grill?

Has anyone tried this?
Search some threads and found some info but with plastic dip.
I want to achieve that black chromium look on the front grill, if its possible?

I think I've found the stuff to "tone down" the chrome bug guard, along w/the horse collar and cross.
Its a two part system and stays reflective like black chrome. I guess I'll be the Guinea pig.LOL
I'm actually gonna try it on the truck next when I get more time.

I just tried it on some old exhaust tips i had lying around. Keep in mind the sun is not out so that may affect how it looks. But it looked like i just painted them black.There was no chrome showing through.

This chrome of mine is too shiny...But you can't rub it up w/scotch bright or anything, you want the chrome to still shine through, Clean and lightly shoot ,3 coats max and at least that many w/the clear coat check out the pic of Chrome it tested on above...still reflective.
Duplicolor metalcast smoke is another option I might consider, it has a higher temp rating but considering I'm pushing a moving wall down the interstate 4 days a week its got to stand up. That's why I like the Clear coat option for protection.

I'm gonna go about this systematically:

Badges first;
If they pass the test - Chrome bug guard next;
then the grill....
But...only if the bug guard survives the cross state trek over Easter W/E.

I'll keep ya posted w/ pics after this coming W/E.
