Default differential oil/cover/bolts

I changed my differential oil recently, and while I was at it decided to paint my cover and install new bolts. After replacing my old oil with Mobil 1, I used engine paint and stainless bolts. The bolts were hard to find as I wanted to use the same type as the factory(flange bolts).I could not find them locally in stainless so I had to internet buy. While the factory bolts were 9/16" in length the bolts I got were 3/4",but they bottomed out even without the cover so no problem. This was a simple and easy mods that I saw on this site.

Thanks ron333!! I believe I got them here:

http://www.msc-stainless-fasteners.c...hex-bolts.html

5/16-18 x 3/4" but be warned....although there was no minimum, I had to pay as much in shipping as the cost of the bolts.

I painted mine about two years ago, just went ahead and painted the bolts without pulling the cover since I was nowhere due for a fluid change. I have since pulled one out the top and ran to my local Ace Hardware where I was able to match it up with some cool a$$ stainless bolts with the allen heads. I guess I could install them by removing one at a time, but I am just waiting for another 7000 miles when I'm due for a change and I'll put them all in at that time...

These are basically the ones I bought at Ace, can't remember the bolt pattern though, it was over a year ago when I bought them. I think they are gonna look nice against the red when I finally install them...

Yeah and the cool part about it was they should have cost about $3 and change EACH and the bubble-headed, bleach blond only charged me for chome-molly bolts at like .85 cents each, even after I told her she made a mistake she just said "don't worry about it"... LOL...
