Default 2004 Dodge Cummins - Mud or All Terrain Tires

I have a 2004 Dodge Cummins. I am new to this forum, but I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for tires. I have had Goodyear Wrangler mud terrain and they cupped. I am currently running Mickey Thompsons ATZ and they have started to cup too, clogged with mud and didn't clean themselves properly. I had good luck with Super Swamper SSR on a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500. I rotate these tires and check tire pressure weekly. I am looking for something to last more than 10k miles. Any suggestions?

If your tires are cupping you may have other issues. How's your balljoints, alignment, etc.

I changed the balljoints last year. They were still good when I rotated tires last. I put two new wheel bearings in almost every year. I was told that because the truck is so heavy, the tires will cup. I was looking for something that will hold up to the weight of the front end. Does this sound accurate? Any suggestions?

I've got a good buddy with Mickey ATZs on his Z71 with just over 80k on them, he's gonna need new tires soon due to lack of tread, but they are just as round as the day he bought them. One set of tires cup and you can blame the tire, two different brands cup and it's time to fix the issue that's causing it.

Although I agree the ATZ is not the tire for someone who plays in deep mud, hence the reason it's not sold as a M/T tire...

They are load range D. Can you find a mud terrain in load range E? Is the Z71 a 3/4 ton or a 1500? Most everyone I talked to have had trouble with tires cupping on a 3/4 ton.

It's a half ton, but it's a farm truck, so lots of heavy towing and hauling.

Honestly, I can't think of a single mud terrain tire that's NOT available in an "E" range. I know from personal experience that Mickey MTZs and Claws are, my Cepek FCIIs are, Nitto Mud Grapplers are, Toyo M/Ts are, Cooper STTs are. I think it'd be harder to find M/Ts that are not available in an "E" range.

My old Ford 7.3 Powerstroke had a set of BFG A/Ts cup before 10k miles on them and the tire dealer kept blaming the truck. I put a set of Mickey Thompson MTXs (not made anymore) on to replace the BFGs and they NEVER cupped. Never changed a thing on the truck.

But if you've had two sets of completely different tires cup that soon, I'd still be looking for an issue with the truck...

I think I am a Super Swamper fan. I am just trying to be open minded and explore other options. This truck hauls my mud truck to the mud pit . Sometimes the parking lots are worse than the pits. The Mickey Thompsons clock with Phip's hard clay mud. So do the Nittos from what I have seen. Thanks for the help and insight. Please keep the comments coming. Trying to make the right choice this time around.

I never had a set of Super Swamper anythings last very long on pavement but they were great in mud. Now I could get decent life out of a set of Mickey Baja Claws on a Wrangler I used to have and they were as good as the Super Swampers in mud. Only thing I didn't like about the Claws were they were easily the worst wet pavement tire I ever owned...
