Well im finally getting rid of this Flowmaster 50 HD muffler. It has not given me the problems as others on here but after reading all the stuff on here about the CFM's (i think) it seems the Magnaflow is a much better performing muffler.

I love my magnaflow it sounds great. I plan on getting longtubes soon and she will really rumble.

 

You'll be happy with it! It's not as raspy but I like the mellow tone and straight through design. The Flows are a cambered muffler.

 

You'll certainly get less drone as long as the Mag is shorter than 20".
You'll sound less like a mustang as well...lol

I heard a car start up and take off from work parking lot last week. The parking lot holds 2,000cars so I couldn't see the car, just hear it.
I said to myself....ohh boy, another Mustang with Dronemasters..how cliche.. About 30sec later, there goes a green 2001 Mustang GT with Dronemaster on it. I knew it. Not sure why all mustang owner feel the need to throw on Flowmasters? They all sound the same. I heard a Ram with a flowmaster and it mimicked the mustang some. I hate flowmaster for that reason. Makes all vehicles sound the same.

 

I love the sound of my Magnaflow. I put an 18" on my 4.7 and got the exact sound I was looking for, very mellow with a muscle car sound until you get on it and then it wakes ya up.

 

Yeah i have the 18 inch body.....the only reason i got the flowmaster originally was because they talked specifically about the hemi in the section for the 50 Series HD, that and i had not yet found this wonderous place.

Ricer, are those the nightrunner headlights? If not, where did you get them. I've been tying to find a pair with black housings?

 

Yeah i had a 95 tahoe that i had one on and took it off because it sounded like a mustang....couldnt stand it....but honestly every shop around here carries Flowmaster. You cant find anything else...i dont know if its cheaper to buy or the buy in to Flowmaster is less than the other companies but its just not offered.

 

So i finally got it put on today...when i showed up at the shop on Thursday the guy that told me to bring it is never allowed to answer the phones but for some reason he did....i can tell a difference as there is no drone at all, just nice rumble when accelerating, glad i did this....now off to CL to sell the flowmaster
