Default exhaust set up help

I think I might go with the cherry bomb system either the single in/out or single in/dual out and I would also want to add a y pipe to get rid of the restricting one in now.

Does a new y pipe just bolt in place where the old one is or what needs to be done to add one in and a new system?

Id like to do it myself and not have to go to a shop or anything. Thanks

The only thing bolt-n-go is a catback system that bolt right up to your factory y-pipe. Even just a muffler swap isn't a definate bolt-n-go because they have offset in/outs that make clamping a total PIA.
For the Y-pipe, guys use Magnaflow 10778 and it requires precise cutting of the old one, and welding in this one. There is no such thing as any Y replacement just bolting inplace unless you replace the entire Y-pipe which includes the cts and all up to the headers, but that's silly.

Chery bomb. Where do you live? I think they make stainless, but most of their stuff is mild steel or that aluminized steel that still rusts out fairly quick. I'd reccomend getting a few cans of high temp spray and throwing on a few coats before installing it.
You'd prob be better just getting a muffler you wanted and the Mag-Y and heading down to a Muffler shop and having them custom bend and make you your exhaust. it will be cheaper than buying a catback kit, plus you'll have the Y-pipe converted as well!!
It will be Mild steel, but thats what you would be ordering anyways.

Thanks for the info and I live in Ohio so things like to rust here. I might just do that then, find just a muffler I like and have it installed along with the y pipe.

If you do decide with the cherry bomb extreme I have the 3 in 3 out and it has a really nice sound to it. I have mine dumped under the truck but I think I might get some pipe and run straight out the back to get a deeper tone. I think if I got a 3" to 4" extension and ran a 4" pipe it might make it the sound a little more dirty with a nice deep echo. Anyways the extreme is a great muffler and at full throttle is is verrry nice!!!
