You would need harnesses, mounts, upgraded front springs, transmission and driveshaft to fit, new axle would be a good idea (Dana 60). You would need to steal as much as possible from a donor vehicle. This swap has actually been done already. Dude has a stealth 2002 Viper truck.

i've always kind of wondered if one of those viper engines would just drop into one of my trucks. according to rock auto the 92-09 vipers used the same motor mounts as a 89-93 d & w 250's and 350's but it looks the same as the one used in the 150's. i am guessing they might just be stronger.

Well the original V10's were based off of an LA 360 so it doesn't surprise me the mounts would correspond somehow.

Why would you want to swap in a Viper engine is the real question? I mean don't get me wrong it's awesome to have a Viper engine in your truck but for the price to get it all set up right and the decreased fuel economy you can't really justify doing the swap

for the fun of it and to say that you did. if i could afford it i would. i don't give a crap about gas mileage. i have been thinking about sticking a 440 in my one truck. i wouldn't mind having the power to spin the tires for about a city block or 2.

Sometimes the only justification one needs is because of the above. Or just more power. I say do it...I myself want to convert a 94-02 to a Viper engine
