I know you dont want to hear this but the best bet is to pick up the phone book and do some local calling around. It doesnt hurt to check out member map and see if anyone is close to you either and contact them possibly.

Sounds like a plan...I'm just a little skeptical about mechanics that I haven't been referred to

Where in Central Jersey are you located? I'm in Jackson.

Don't really know any places up by you. I have a shop in Jackson and in Bayville that I trust bringing my family's cars too. But I think your best bet would be a trans shop or race shop. Did you already order/get the set of gears you want?

If you really want the best advice on where to go, stop by Raceway park on an open drag night and ask some of the racers. Otherwise google or even try Angie's list

I know what you mean, I used to live in Manalapan like 5 min away, but some events it's a hour to go the final mile to the track. I was thinking more about during the week, Wednesday test and tune, I don't really know how busy it is then but can't be as bad as a main event.
