more power out of the 4.7l
Hey I recently bought my first Dodge. Its a 03 1500 qc 2x4 with the 4.7l. I have already lowered the truck 2/4, k&n cold air kit, throttle body spacer, superchips tuner, jba headers with magnaflo exhaust. I still want more power out of the truck though. I have a 10p shot wet kit on the way. I don't know the best ways to get track performance out of these trucks as I ha e never owned a Dodge. Please help with some pointers thanks.
And they guy I bought the truck from said he put a set of custom grind comp cams. I can't hear anything so not sure if that's true. He told me the computer is advancing the timing to where u can't hear. Never heard of that either.

First things first: You own a 4x2, a 2x4 is a piece of wood.
Secondly: You have a fuel rail - gas is not injected directly into the throttle body, so remove the paperweight you call a throttle body spacer, it's actually costing you a bit of performance.
Aside from that, it looks like you have the basic bolt ons/tuner deal covered. So the next progressions would be ported throttle body, polished heads and cams...

Since you have a 4x2, gears. 4.56's will help that 5000lb beast with the baby engine get moving. Was the Y pipe replaced with the headers? There's a restriction right there if not. Other than the 08+ intake manifold, I don't think there is much more you can do before forced induction. Go to airram.com and shop around.
They are heavy trucks to get moving in a hurry (mine's over 5500# on the scales). The gearing has made a huge difference in terms of get up and go with the hemi so I can only imagine that the 4.7 would benefit even more.
Well sorry. 4x2. But thanks guys. It is a heavy truck and the gears would help. I don't know why I didn't put them in when I put in the locker. Ill have to take the spacer off and see how it does, but that does make sense for it to not help. I looked at airram.com and I'm thinking about ordering one of there intakes.
What do you think about 206 or 212 cams?

I ALMOST had a set of HO cams for sale, but I decided to rebuild my 4.7 HO when it dropped a valve seat, sorry, LOL.
The 212s are nice, a buddy of mine had KRC Performance do a set on his Dak when Marty was still at KRC. Gains are better'n the HOs, the big reason the HOs are in such demend is you don't need custom tuning...
