Electric Side Steps?

This may be a terrrible idea, but could you maybe just get the single long one and have it cut to your liking? Also I saw these in 4wp magazine, maybe you could put then at the doors... http://www.google.com/m/products/cat...d=0CIEBEPMCMAM

I can't decide if you would need 2 motors for 1 small step or just one motor, one connecting rod, 2 hinges, and the step. I don't need the step to need to hold a ton of weight, just probably around 400lbs.

The motor itself won't be doing a ton of work, just raising and lowering the step so I would think that one would be sufficient. Less to break if there is only 1 too.

If there are power single steps out there, I can't find any. Even the companies who make power full length ones and offer short singles, don't have power shorties...
